Coach Emily
Head Coach
Favorite Stroke/Skill:  Freestyle
 
Bio:  Coach Emily is excited to return to Larkspur this summer! She is currently a middle school teacher and also coaches the winter swim league at Kempsville Recreation Center. She grew up swimming in the VBSL for Carolanne Farms Swim Club, as well as a couple years with Tidewater Aquatic Club (TAC) and Old Dominion Aquatic Club (ODAC). She also swam on the Club Swim Team while at Longwood University.
 
Message to Larkspur Lasers:  I am thrilled to work with both familiar swimmers from winter league as well as new swimmers. I am looking forward to setting and reaching goals that challenge each swimmer throughout the season. I am excited to be coaching returning swimmers and fine tuning their strokes while introducing new swimmers to the fun of summer league swim. I have to pass along the best advice a swim coach gave me which was to always remember your technique when you are tired - correct form will carry you far.
Coach Myla
 

Favorite Stroke/Skill: Backstroke/Butterfly

Bio: Coach Myla is a freshman at ODU for nursing and has been coaching for almost 3 years. She has been swimming competitively since the age of 6.

Message to Larkpur Lasers: Coach Myla is super excited for this upcomiong season and her advice to all of the swimmers is to have fun and try your best.

Coach Eric

Favorite Stroke/Skill: Backstroke

Bio:  Eric is excited to be helping with the Lasers this summer! He has experience coaching all ages and has worked for both summer league and club teams. If he's not by the pool you can find him reading or exploring Hampton Roads.

Message to Larkpur Lasers: I'm thrilled to be able to be on deck again this summer and can't wait to see old and new faces!

Coach Hanna

Favorite Stroke/Skill: Freestyle/IM

Bio: Coach Hanna is a Chesapeake Public Schools Teacher. She swam for 13 years. She previously coached a year round team and the Lasers. She is very excited to be back o deck with ther Lasers this summer.

Message to Larkpur Lasers: Coach Hanna is super excited for this upcomiong season and her advice to all of the swimmers is to always have your eye on the prize.
Coach Isaac
 

Favorite Stroke/Skill: Breaststroke/Distance Freestyle


Bio: Coach Isaac grew up swimming in the VBLS for Carolanne Farms Swim Club and Indian
Lakes, along with year around swimming for Tidewater Aquatic Club (TAC) in Virginia Beach
and went on to swim at Wingate University. After graduating from Wingate with his bachelor’s in
finance and MBA with a concentration in finance, Isaac remained around Charlotte, NC working
for various banks in the mortgage industry for over 12 years and a mortgage underwriter for 10
years.


Message to Larkspur Lasers: Coach Isaac is very excited to help coach the Lasers this
season. I look forward to assisting and helping each swimmer meet their season goals and have
lots of fun during the summer!

Coach Matt

Favorite Stroke/Skill: Freestyle/Butterfly

Bio: Coach Matt is currently a freshman collegiate swimmer at Virginia Wesleyan University where he specializes in long distance freestyle. He has been swimming competitively since he was 8, swimming for the Kempsville Stingrays, Timberlake Timberwolves, Larkspur Lasers, as well as Tallwood High School. You can usually find Coach Matt in the pool year-round, surfing the waves at Croatan, or lifeguarding at Kempsville Rec Center.

Message to Larkpur Lasers: Coach Matt is loooking forward to this summer and being able to help the Lasers become the best they can possibly be. His advice to all swimmers is to always do your best and to never give up!
